Higher You was born out of the desire to create opportunities for people to experience greater levels of self-actualization through work. Americans spend approximately one-third of their lives, the equivalent of 90,000 hours, working. Yet most people aren’t engaged or happy while on the job. Employees typically look to their employers to fix the issue, but employers aren’t fully equipped to do so, and it’s hard to blame them. The tools they are accustomed to using don’t translate well in the new modern world of work, where hybrid and remote working arrangements are becoming mainstream, younger generations comprise the majority of the workforce, and people are yearning for more purpose and meaning. Ultimately, there is a gap between employers and employees and it is costing employers billions of dollars in lost productivity and costing employees the chance to achieve their full potential. The good news is, it doesn’t have to be this way. We believe that there needs to be a third leg of the stool, built to support employees on their career journey, so that they are empowered to create the lives they desire, and in doing so, create more value for their employers along the way. Higher You’s goal is to be this third leg, to bridge the gap, so that we can achieve our ultimate mission:

We are culture obsessed. We believe that work should be an inspired adventure that provides opportunities for growth. When people are rooted in strong and active cultures, built intentionally and nurtured daily, anything becomes possible, and the pursuit becomes joyful. We spend way too many of our waking hours at work to accept anything less.

Vision serves as our north star to light the path forward, especially when the actual steps are unknown. With vision, a brighter future is ours to create.

We are Courageous

Courage has many forms. It is a critical ingredient in bringing any vision to life and is something we all have the power to choose in any moment. Whether it be having a hard conversation, taking action to overcome a fear, moving forward in the face of uncertainty and doubt, we choose to cultivate courage. Courage invites us to move past the status quo, to dream up what’s next when things become comfortable, and to keep growing by stretching ourselves to new heights. As the quote says, “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”

We are Inspired

Have you ever had that feeling of divine influence? The moment of brilliance where things seemed so clear? We find those moments of inspiration everywhere. We know that when we are inspired ourselves, we inspire those around us. This inspiration allows us to create and spread more joy, which is one of our primary missions. People are faced with many challenges and doubts every day. Oftentimes Inspiration at the right moment is just what someone needs to break through.

We are Caring

We believe there is a global yearning for more care and connection. Caring allows us to get out of our own head and show up for others. It gives us permission to lead with kindness and curiosity and find ways to build bigger bridges around what makes us common and less focus on things that polarize us. In a society that sometimes feels isolating and lonely, caring is needed now more than ever. When people feel cared for, they feel safe, and within that safe space, amazing things become possible, including the opportunity to create a healthier, happier world.

We are Intentional

If something is to be done, it should always be done on purpose and with intention. We are growing, changing, and impacting people around us every day and we always ask ourselves, are we doing those things intentionally? Intention allows us to break out of our habitual behavior that keeps us stuck in a life that doesn’t bring us joy. It allows us to think deeply about how our actions and behaviors will impact those around us. And it gives us the ability to make decisions that bring us closer to our highest vision.
